Hey Jim. How rare are runt LaScalas? How many were produced?

Can you post a photo?  I'm interested because I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a "runt LaScala".

I estimate 28 between 1966 and 1971.  Note that the records are hand-written, and that the runt was occasionally interspersed with the regular LaScala's.  I think I saw all of the references.

The one here is 21 3/4 H x 23 3/4 W x 24 1/2 D.  They all use a 12" woofer.

So it is close to the full size version, are there measurements or comparisons to the LaScala? Why was a twelve inch woofer chosen rather than the fifteen, simply cost? Thanks.

How tall is the mouth? - it looks roughly 14.5-15" high from that picture.   Did it use a K22E?  Did PWK leave a graph so we could compare to LB76?

Thanks Jim!

I have a pair that I need to restore. Someone did a bad rattle can job or two with gloss black. They have the full enclosed top like the black one Seti posted. Thanks Seti!

The woofer is top loading and you pull the top off cabinet to access woofer.

I'll try to get the serial numbers off the cabinets.

The mouth height is 12 3/4".  They used a K-22 of various suffixes.  The earliest one used was an EV K-22.  The whole point was to be as small as possible, therefore a 12" woofer.  I suspect there are curves, but that would be an Easter egg hunt at this point.
