johntoye
Hope everyone is doing great. I recently purchased a refurbished Lafayette LA-230 Tube Receiver. Having a hard time finding information on it. I have found out that the model may be similar to a Kenwood (Trio) KW series but it stops there. I have the unit connected to a set of Forte I's and it sounds amazing. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks, John
MechEngVic
This is for the la-224, I don't know how similar they are but there's some generic info about the company. https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/lafayette_la_224b.html
tube fanatic
That’s typical of the equipment which Lafayette manufactured in Japan in the early and mid 60s. I am guessing that it uses 6BM8s in the output stage and may be good for around 10wpc. It would be worth buying a service manual if you plan on keeping it. You can probably get one from agtannenbaum.com . Maynard
