JohnA
Last week I did another DVD-Audio disc search. Spent hours looking at bands I'd never heard of, reading reviews of the recordings mostly in any format other than DVD-A and bought 2. The first is truly a gem! Its the Klipsch Tape Reissues, Vol II. The Joe Holland Band is recorded live. The DVD-A version is breathtakingly real. Ear Candy for a jazz lover! It's dynamic. The cymbals are perfection. Skin drum heads. Air sounds with the clarinet. All those evenings in bars listening to the real thing quickly come to mind, especially parts of Naw'lins. Sit back with your favorite evening beverage and enjoy!

Wolfbane
I've got Volume 2 of this release in DSD format. Does anyone know where to find a DSD version of Volume 1? Wb

Wolfbane
Bizarre indeed, I don't know why either. Perhaps the original Volume 1 Master Tape was not a good candidate for conversion. Maybe the original Master is lost and therefore the copy found wanting? Wb
JohnA
I have one or 2 SACDs. Don't hear anything special. 24/96 DVD-A is about equal to my Thorens with AT OC9 moving coil. 24/192 DVD-A will just best it.

The 1957 recording is SUPERB
MeloManiac
After reading your comments here, I just bought Vol1, the 24/192 pcm download version (2.19 GB zipfile). Playback on my Amazon Fire HD8 gen 7 tablet with VLC Mediaplayer. Playback is faultless.
DizRotus
I purchased these as downloads to be played via Pono. They are superb.
