Trying to eat more healthy

I have lost 20 pounds! Eating steel cut oats for breakfast and it really keeps you full. Add some ground flax, and a teaspoon of maple syrup, with a small amount of milk. Trying to eat clean with 0 processed food for 3 months. Low salt and sugar, and nothing that says natural or artificial flavors. I’m down from 248 to 228 and trying to get below 220 so my doctor will take obese off my chart. I’m feeling better every day but do cheat one day a week. I’m eating meat or chicken or fish one time a day. Nuts, fruits, vegetables, and very little sprouted grain bread. I’m just eating for health so I’m going to see where my weight goes. Hoping for around 190 to 200 pounds. We will see.

Being serious, I cut back on salt a lot, even back as a teen scraping it off of mc ds fries. Right after I got my new filter I could not eat one Frito without stomach pain...

Salt in the cannisters used to be Iodized. I prefer nutrients coming from my plate instead of a supplement. What contains Iodine naturally, and no not worried about getting nuked.

There would be bigger worries then.

Found two in the fridge, won't be eating kelp though.

Like Cod in beer batter! Miss Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips with the malted vinegar!

Bought some of these at Safeway when they went on sale for $2 each, not bad really. Quick, easy and cheap taste decent for the price and serving size is about perfect for a light lunch. You do have to look at the ingredients and nutritional facts not all of these meals are what you would consider "healthy" some are loaded with Cholesterol, sodium and sat. fat.

I'm not a huge fan of eating a large lunch so I have been prepping a healthy snack to eat at anytime. Best part is it's easy to make and cheap.

Ingredients: Dried chick peas, EVOO, lemon, salt

Cook the Chick peas in a pot until they are tender and can be processed easily. I don't pre-soak, I just rinse them and then cook in a pot for a little over 2 hours. After they are soft enough remove from heat but don't drain the water off. Scoop the chick peas out and into a food processor, add a high quality extra virgin olive oil, squeeze some fresh lemon juice and sprinkle some salt in there. I don't use table salt, I like medium size pink Himalayan. While processing you will need to add some of the broth you cooked the chick peas in to the mixture to get it to the right consistency which should be like humus but without the sesame paste.

Once the spread is made I put it in the fridge and when hungry use pita bread to scoop it out and eat with. It's very tasty and has a lot of protein and good fats from the EVOO.

EDIT: I forgot about garlic. Mince 1 clove of garlic and add it when in the food processor. If you really like garlic like me use two or more cloves, although 3 or more cloves gets really strong.

Ive been eating meat nearly exclusively for a few weeks now... I feel wonderful.

my mind is much clearer, I wake up feeling great and any stomach issues I was suffering before are completely gone.

I still mix in an occasional GREEN vegetable but fruits, process sugars and mass carbohydrates   are out.

I recently read an interesting article about the carnivore diet.  Can you describe your typical daily meals?  Are you eating cafo meat and, if so, do you have any concerns about all the antibiotics and hormones you are ingesting?

Hello. You should always eat right. You need to eat often and not a lot. You don't need to overeat at night, because when you sleep, all this may not be digested. This is bad for our health. Therefore, you need to monitor your diet. But it happens that problems with nutrition arise due to some psychological problems. It is necessary to treat it carefully and help yourself. You need to contact good specialists who can conduct therapy with you. That's why I suggest you go to this site https://us.calmerry.com/ocd-therapy/ There you will be able to contact real specialists who will advise you and find your problem and help you solve it.

eat often and not a lot? if you eat often you are probably eating too much. This is the conventional wisdom/advice though. This keeps our bodies continuously making insulin until we become insulin resistant and then diabetic. This is what big pharma wants. They want you to be sick. Our ancestors did not eat often

Our bodies work harder to digest food than an hour workout in the gym. Especially if its multiple different kinds of food in one meal. Certains foods together take 12-16 hours to digest. Fruit and meat would be one of the worst. Not only does the meat rot inside of you the fruit ferments inside of you. Eating meat without enzymes from greens means your body has to break down the meet. after the fact your body has to to make the enzyme to break down the fruit. The greens enzyme different than the fruit enzyme. You should also jew up to 25 times per one bite of food. Your saliva is enzymes. The food pyramid from the usda is upside down. Eat living food to stay living. Food is energy and life. We have been taught all the wrong things about food our whole life. Sickness is not in us. It gets put in us.

I don't agree with anything you said.

Yes, no one needs a diet. Just stop overeating.

People who live off fast food, sugary espressos and massive intakes of junk / processed foods "need" a diet change if weight loss or good health is the desired result. Over-eating is an issue of course but don't think most people are getting fat eating bags of carrots or broccoli.

It's crazy how our society lives on fast food, pre made dinners, and ultra processed food.   You can see it clearly in the mid west where there is alot of over weight people in poor health.   Yet they won't come to terms that it's better to eat 3 eggs, oat meal, and black coffee at home versus Casey's breakfast pizza and Starbucks.

If these people switch to more home cooked meals, they'd loose 40 lbs in a couple of months.  But hey, what else is there to do in Nebraska?
