jackrcox
Hello all, I was looking to purchase a entry level stereo setup for my brother-in-law who just relocated to Atlanta after recently getting a job at Georgia Tech. This week he reached out to me to see if I could help him piece something inexpensive together so he could listen to his old records when I came to visit him this weekend. After trying to look for leads on craigslist and other local classifieds and not coming up with much, I thought I would post on here to see if anyone had any old equipment in the area. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. Jack

jackrcox
I am trying to find him a pair of speakers and a receiver for around 400 dollars. I am bringing him a turntable that will do the job for the time being.

Good luck!
WillyBob
I would think [with some patience], you can put a nice little system together for $400 - $500. Might get lucky and snag a pair of Heresy and a little amp. If cosmetics are not a big consideration, it can open the door pretty wide. my junk stereo.. Sony AVR, R15M's and a sub is not bad for what it is. The R15M are entry level bookshelf speakers. The RB series bookshelf are much better.
HDBRbuilder
A decent shape H/K 430 twin-powered receiver and a old pair of Birch Heresys is all it takes with your budget. PLUS, you can watch that smile of his get bigger and bigger! Once you see that big smile, break the news to him: The H/K 430 is JUST rated at 25 WPC!

carlthess40
I have a set of kg4 speakers in oiled oak and a demon dragon-325R receiver The receiver is in near mint shape The Klipsch have some nicks on one side I’m near Daytona beach in deltona I would take 400 plus shipping for all of it and will add a set of mit speaker cables that are about 7 feet long. These things cost $45 per foot. I had a single 49 foot long cable and made 3 sets out of it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
