Eivind
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm planning on upgrading my stereo setup, to a 5.1 surround system (maybe eventually 7.1). The setup im looking to get: RP-280F (front L/R) RP-440C (center) RP-160M (back surrounds) R-115SW Now, as a novice in this field, my questions is: will the "Onkyo TX-NR656" work well with this system? pzannucci
If the Onkyo has multi-channel with the right number and types of connections, appropriate features and conversion you want, enough power, then it should. If this is a long term purchase, make sure it satisfies your long term goals (more than 5 channels and proper connections and decoding).
JohnA
It should be excellent. Look at Sony es, Yamaha, Marantz, Denon, too.
Bubo
Second look at Denon, yamaha, pioneer elite etc. 10% Thd seems a bit high to me. 1% AMPLIFIER FEATURES 160 W/Ch (6 Ω, 1 kHz, 1% THD, 1 Channel Driven, IEC); 175 W/Ch (6 Ω, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 Channel Driven, JEITA) https://www.eu.onkyo.com/en/products/tx-nr656-129914.html
