What Really Pis$ed You Off Today

What really pissed me off in very recent history is that Enterprise allowed me to reserve a rental car, except it wasn't really reserved.  When I called to see if I could pick it up an hour earlier than what I specified, I was told that they don't have any cars, and probably will not have any.  What's the point of reserving a car if they can just say we're out when you show up?  Ridiculous.  Really messed up a trip of mine.

Apologies to all "Health workers".   I think I was a little anxious about procedures. Had no right to be P'd off.

The best people took the best care of me. Thanks so much.

If you had the paper work with you you should have read the Enterprise Manager the Riot Act. Politely, but firmly insisted that they deliver an upgraded vehicle forthwith.

The day prior to a colonoscopy can pretty much piss you off....  if not, it can certainly ruin your entire day.

Did this 2 weeks ago, no freaking fun and it lasts all night long, if that’s any encouragement. 🙄

See if your GI or other specialist will prescribe or stipulate Golytely for the night before. Works quickly and w/o cramping. Also, after a couple of long hours of reading, you're done!

For the procedure they should drug you into the Land of Nod. If you're lucky, you will hardly remember a thing afterwards.

Seeing more and more people taking their pets (mainly dogs) shopping with them to the Grocery Store, in the meat market, in the produce section, all over the store.

While I love my pets and spoil them rotten, it bothers me to see people taking advantage of what should be strictly limited to special needs people only. Seeing people taking their dogs to the Grocery store or  shopping at the mall bothers me......

My oldest daughter was about to join the fray (because her boyfriend does this nonsense) and had both her malinois registered as "Service Dogs". One day she took her dogs along with her boyfriend and his dog (a Great Dane) to the Pearl Brewery (trendy kid hangout); Her car of course, her boyfriend didn't want to trash his BMW. When she got home, I asked her if she enjoyed driving her car all the way into town with 3 large dogs so she could show them off to complete strangers. She looked puzzled, and knew I was disappointed. I told her, "Isn't it wonderful to be able to do that"..... Now imagine 30%/50%/100% of the visitors all dragging their "SERVICE" dogs with them to public places.  Wouldn't that be an enjoyable experience, wonderful huh?  Next time take them in the BMW, they like a nice ride too.

She got the point.... and I made damn sure the boyfriend got mine.

More and more i’m thinking of a service dog. When I take my hearing aids out at night, i can’t hear a thing. Not the phone, knock at the door, and probably not even the smoke alarm if I’m asleep. I definitely wouldn’t be able to hear an intruder in the house. A dog to alert me when necessary would be practical AND helpful emotionally by giving me some peace of mind at night  knowing that the dog would hear the things that i can’t.

A several years ago, while walking across a busy street in SoCal, I got ran over by a beefy Toyota Tundra. I never heard it ... i’m walking one minute and flying through the air the next. I remember my doctor asking if my hearing wasn’t so bad if I would have heard the truck coming.

Hearing aids were expensive and the first pair came out of pocket; but i didn’t mind. The week that i got them, i met the actress Rhona Mitra and was able to carry on a conversation. The week prior, i wouldn’t have been able to hear her talking. I told myself that day that i wouldn’t complain one bit about the cost of the hearing aids.

Now i get them free through the VA.

Agree: Pretty foolish and will end up making sure that those who actually have a need for a Service Animal will run into increasing intolerance at the local restaurant, food store, etc..

How did you destroy your hearing to this extent? By PM if you want.

i don’t know.  tissue growing over a bone that is supposed to vibrate which carries the sound ... because of the tissue growth, the bone doesn’t vibrate enough. Met with a surgeon last week about surgery to cut out that bone and replace it with a piece of metal or something, but surgeon said even with a “perfect” surgery, i will not get back to normal. we both agreed that the benefits weren’t worth the risks.  I’d still need hearing aids after a perfect surgery so why bother.
