Pete H
I play Euchre because it's difficult to find people that know how to play pinochle. Don't laugh at the "old people" friends of ours from a couple golf league that average around 73 years old, have shown us a ton of interesting card games. All they do is golf and play cards.

I've never played pinochle but defer to my Dad's opinion. After learning Euchre about six years ago he said it's more enjoyable than pinochle for him. His reasoning is with a losing hand in pinochle it can drag on 20 minutes. Whereas a losing hand in Euchre lapses much faster and you're ready and optimistic for the next. No laughing at old people intended. I've learned lots of great Euchre strategy playing my in laws. Only know a few card games. Interested in learning more. Tournaments are a blast with a good group of people.

My wife and I are friends with a guy who loves to host tournaments at his house. As many as four tables going each round. $10 buy in just for healthy competition. Fun stuff! Just cerebral enough to be challenging, but not so complex as to preclude conversation and some form of consciousness alteration. It’s somewhere between Go Fish and Bridge. I played two-handed “honeymoon Euchre” with a secretary who thought there’s a “Z” in taxation. You can handle Euchre.
