Ashwin
Hi Everyone. I am looking to upgrade my existing HT setup. Currently am using Polk Rti A7 as towers, Csi A6 as Center and Fxi A6 as surrounds. Looking to upgrade to either RP 8000s or RF7 iii for towers and RP 540C or RC64 iii for centers with RP502s as surrounds. However my listening distance is only 13 ft while the room size is 17 ft L × 12 ft W × 9 ft H. My dilemma is whether RF 7iiis will be overkill for this size of room. This is the only aspect due to which I am still undecided. Usage will be 70% movies and 30% music. Request suggestions pls to help me take the final decision. Grizzog
RF-7 III . They're better in every way to the RP series. I don't think either would be overkill for that space.
grendel23
I have RF-7 iii's and an RC-64 iii in a room about the size of yours, sounds great. These don't need a sub for music, but I would recommend one for movies. I have 2 large infinite baffle subs which match the low distortion, high output qualities of the RF-7 iii's. CECAA850
Welcome to the forum. I've got a 4 driver IB as well with my 7s. Absolutely love it.
Pete H
Love my 7's and sub for HT and though I have some better rigs for music, I have zero complaints playing music through the 7's either. Overkill is 100% controlled by you and the volume knob.
