Dave A
I will have some of these for sale as I get the speakers checked out and recapped. I will also be defeating the THX limits per mods described on this forum. Price and pictures in a couple of days if anyone is interested.
davis419b
I am curious what you mean by defeating THX limits .
Dave A
Apparently there was a standard developed for theater surround speakers that limited the higher notes tweeters were capable of. You modify the crossover to bypass this.

Marvel
Not my writing, but found this: The X curve (ISO 2969) comes from the way the ear hears the reverberant sound field versus the way something like a time-averaging real-time analyzer hears it. If you set up a large room to have a flat frequency response on an RTA, it will sound too bright as the ears add in the direct sound from the speakers to the reflected sound in the high frequencies, while at lower frequencies they average more like an RTA. The X curve is applied to the playback system, and not the recording, in an attempt to correct for the apparent response of the space. davis419b
Thanks for the replies ! I have 4 KPT-200's in my garage and was just curious if I was missing something.
Marvel
The KPT-200s would make decent mains for a small system, but you wouldn't want the upper end to roll off.
teaman
I own four of the KPT-200 speakers and they are amazing. By far the best wall mount surround speakers I have had the pleasure of listening to. Interested to see your pricing and if you are willing to ship. I am using them as heights and rear surrounds with a pair of dual KP-201 as a center and a pair of KP-250 II mains.
Dave A
I was wondering how these would work as rear surrounds with a set of KPT-904's
