Heresy IV versus Heresy III

Recommended Posts

Here also in France, many Klipsch fans talk about the Heresy IV saying: "these are no longer true Klipsch," "betrayal" "they are no longer closed like all Heresy before".
As Chef Bornehead says, they haven't even listened to the IV news and therefore they give a void opinion.

I also find that everyone is talking about the evolution of HIV compared to HIII, only for port bass reflex: they forget the new Tractrix K704 driver and horn set, the new K107 tweeter with the new broadcast part, the new Network, the new cables and new terminals. Because as the Chef says: common methods, but a different recipe makes a different and unique sound.

I am also an amateur who builds speakers since the 80's, for me and friends, but I am only an amateur and I am like DaveA: passionate, but humble know that I ignore a lot of things, that I have to make big mistakes and I like to learn a lot from specialists like Roy Delgado. I find it a unique opportunity and a privileged privilege that he writes here on the forum, that he discusses in all humility and so kindly, with us simple amateurs and owners of Klipsch. Thanks to you, Klipsch employees for chatting with us on the forum.

I have no need or desire to prove anything to you. Go read some books on the subject.

And yet, another joins my ignore list...

You got the ID 10 T error going big time!

haven't Klipsch Heresys been modified and updated from time to time by the factory since they were introduced?...

1 then 2 then 3 and now 4.  I guess so 🙂

I don't know the answer to this, but I would suspect their may be "changes" like different drivers due to availability, or parts or design changes in crossovers that may be considered to be improvements but didn't necessarily result in a formal change in model designation.

Maybe that is what is being referred to.

Actually I had a set of Heresys that had two different woofers though they both were marked the same model.  One had venting and one did not so obviously different.  I can't see how they would likely measure the same.

So in that vain, yes that and mid / tweeters such as the move from the alnico to K-77M.  Multiples.

Heresy Changes in detail:

. HERITAGE PRODUCTION NOTES & TIME LINES:

1. HERESY:

  • 1957: The Heresy is introduced as a center channel for the Klipschorn. It is the first Klipsch speaker that does not require corner placement. This model utilized the K-1000 midrange horn. These are rare, and one example in the Museum in Hope is the rarest of all the Klipsch Heritage speakers.
  • 1957 - 1959: Both 8" and 12" woofer versions were produced during this period.
  • 1967 - The H-700 is introduced in the now familiar format using a 12" K-22 woofer (There were several variants used E, EF, K) K-700 horn; K-55-V mid-range and the K-77 (T-35 type Alnico magnet) tweeter.
  • From this date through the end of the model run in 1985, various networks were used: Type C, Type E and Type E-2. All were variations on the same design.
  • 1972-1973: The Heresy's name is changed from H-700 to Heresy.
  • 1983-1984: The K-24 woofer is substituted for the K-22, and during the last production of the Heresy-I, the midrange K-53/701 is substituted for the K-55/700.
  • 1985: The Heresy II is introduced using a mid-range and tweeter driver set that, for the first time since the introduction of the H-700 differed from that of the Klipschorn. Component designations were: Woofer K-24-K, Midrange K-701 horn and K-52 driver (the mid range assembly was also stamped K-53 on the driver). The tweeter is K-75-K horn and K-76 driver. This was the first Heresy model to discontinue the use the traditional alpha numeric network designations (Type E-2). All of the drivers in the Heresy II were front mounted to reduce the diffraction effects caused by rear mounting and firing through the motor board.
  • May 2001: Finish, grill and riser variant options are reduced from nearly 100 to 10.
  • Sept 29, 2005: The Heresy III is introduced featuring increased sensitivity (3dB), Titanium mid-range and tweeter diaphragms, Tractrix tweeter horn and bi-wire inputs. Component designations are: Woofer K-28-E, Midrange K-53-Ti (K-701 horn and K-53-Ti driver), Tweeter K-107-Ti (K-79-T horn and K-100-Ti driver). Finish, grille and riser variations are further reduced from 10 to 3.
  • May 2006: The Heresy III midrange compression driver is sourced to a new supplier and the network is revised to compensate for the change.
  • 2008+: There have been a number of improvements produced, and Klipsch has transitioned the crossovers to a more modern design. For information on the recent changes, please go to the website (Klipsch.com) for product information.

I find your post sincere and goofy at the same time. Nice. Your adamant response to there not being much difference in ported or not intrigued me.

I dont assume you are correct in your assumption. And that is due to the fact that I would have to ignore the data gathered over the years to agree with you. So why were you so sure that the the differences in the 3 vs 4 were so hyped up that you chose to be so negative?  As I stated in another thread.....I stand by my data. And I hope that the heresy iv is exactly where Paul wants it to be......

I haven't been on here in a few days because I have been dealing with more important, pressing matters in life. You know, like life itself. Anyway...

As is the case with most of the other simpletons on this forum, you FAIL to read my posts properly, or understand them for that matter.

Not ONCE did I say anything about the ported IV not being much different than the sealed III or hyped up. Not once. And I'm sure as heck not going to sit here and re-write everything for a third time just so you and your simple minded creep followers can skim over it and not see or understand what I'm saying... Again. IF you actually took the time to read my posts properly and possibly comprehend it, then you would have realized what I said and that I am in fact correct and have been all along. I don't care if you're an engineer, a doctor or a scientist. If you're you're not going to read things properly, you're the one failing and looking stupid in the process.

Honestly, I feel sorry for PWK, that his legacy somehow ended up in the soggy little mitts of a clueless man. All you're doing is reaping the rewards from his success. And that doesn't even include a lot of these long time members on here who honestly believe that Klipsch speakers are the best thing out there since sliced bread and they are better than anything else. LOL  Sure, Klipsch's Heritage line is good stuff, but it's definitely not the best. Not by a long shot. Far from it. But all you simpletons will go about your little lives truly believing it is, and that's fine... For you.

Now of course, I know you and all of your clown followers are going to join in a big ole gang bang blasting me to pieces, and I really don't care. It doesn't bother me one bit at all... Because this is my last time coming to this lousy forum anyway and I will never see your silly, useless comments.

And yes, you simpletons may think that I'm angry and/or upset, but I'm really not. Just letting you all know where I stand on the situation and exactly how you all show yourselves to the world on the ole' internet. It's sad to say, but I was actually warned about joining this forum, because of all of the snobby, "think they know it all" members on here who back each other up and gang up on new members like a group of zombies at a feeding frenzy, even though you know you're most likely wrong... In more ways than one! LOL

Warned by members on other forums, warned by what's written on websites about this forum. Heck, even actual reviewers that have mentioned how dysfunctional this forum is, and I STILL gave you guys a chance. That's pretty dang sad that a forum such as this one has such a horrible reputation, and none of you seem to care.

That's why it took me several months after purchasing these speakers before I decided to try joining here. It all started to go downhill only after a few posts when people starting questioning and cracking jokes as to why I spend money on cables. And then one simpleton attempting to preach to me about why I shouldn't spend money on cables. I swear, you people are impossible.

Don't get me wrong, not all of you are bad. There's a few (and I do mean a few) of you on here that know what they are talking about and don't fall into the constant BS on this forum, and I put you few above all others here, including the simpleton I quoted in this post.

With that said, I wish you all a safe and healthy future as times are getting rough around the world for everyone, and this is only the beginning. So in short, grow up and start being nice to people. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Bye.

Could have fooled me by using words like simpletons.  Having a retort such as above.  Guess family doesn't fight or call each other out 🙂

I'm a little surprised that the word "poopyheads" didn't appear somewhere in his post.

Haha!  I guess I'm the simpleton who tried to tell him that re-clocking a digital signal while it's being transported over USB is useless since the data is being blasted in waves to a memory buffer where it sits un-clocked until the DAC pulls it out one word at a time at the rate of its own clock.  I guess I also missed my calling as a preacher...  Damn!

A great many assumptions made from such a short exposure to the forum.  I'd say it has to be the result of improper ability to read only what's written.

I was so looking forward to seeing what he had built and designed over the last 30 years.

Dang it, you bad apples ruined it for all of us. 🤩🍹🤔

I didn't realize this forum was so famous.

Now what are we going to do?

I guess we could find some some more III vs. IV reviews.
