John Castle
I have a pair of Klipsch Cornwall speakers, type CBR, serial 35Y674 and 35Y675 in mint condition. I want to confirm how to identify the month and year the speakers were manufactured? Thanks John
Budman
welcome to the forum John. klipsch used the letters A thru Y and Y was 1983 C-BR = Cornwall Birch Raw Y = 1983 the 35 could stand for the 35th week, i don't really know or really cared about the week, just the year
Seadog
That is about the time Klipsch was using the K-52-H mid driver (my '83 Heresys have K-52-H drivers). Do your CWs have K-52-H or K-55-V drivers? Just curious, some think the K-52-H driver sounds better.

Thanks John Those were built a couple of months before I left in 1983, So it is HIGHLY LIKELY that I built them..

OO1
@7Below these are Cornwall 1 -1983 -- mint shape ---1500$ is rock bottom ..up to 2k$ i ---CBR is Birch raw . you're always better paying a bit more for a speaker that requires 0 repairs versus a speaker needing 500-- 1k$ in repairs to grilles-badges - cabinet . JOHNFITZ
Hello, I have a pair of Cornwalls, serial# 175203. Do you know what year these were made?
DoubleJ
Hi, I'm just guessing, but the "5" may be an "S" what would make them '78's. Thanks JJ -Hello, I have a pair of Cornwalls, serial# 175203. jcn3
@JOHNFITZ - i agree with @DoubleJ -- the "5" must be an "S", so 1978. if it's hard to read the label, the serial number should be stamped at the top on the back of the speaker.
