thebes
Yes folks, it's been too long since this odd corner of the human cerebrum has been brought dragging and kicking into the light of online intelligentsia. In other words, how can we cope with the challenges of the day when we can't even properly reproduce the words to our favorite songs. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty sure when I'm singing along with a song no more then one word in ten is actually in the song. Which must be a great disappointment to those lyric crafters who come up with a wonderful chorus, or memorable hooks, only to have some properly enraptured listener shout out words that bear no resemblance to what they wrote. You know: "excuse me while I catch this guy". So a fake contest is in order. Rules are simple. Answer the question correctly and then you must post a humdinger of your own. ARE YOU WITH ME?????????????????????????????????? First up. A Thebsian special. Title of the Gerry and The Pacemakers 1965 hit single: Mary Across the Jersey or Ferry Across the Mersey WHOSE WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oldtimer
Ferry Across the Mersey if you are looking for the correct title. Just scratch your knees or It's a tragedy...
Edgar
I thought it was "... 'xcuse me, while I kiss this guy." As for Gerry and the Pacemakers, I remember the song but have no idea the real name. I'll offer one of my own anyway. Janis Joplin singing Kris Kristofferson. What are the real lyrics: "Bobby thumbed a diesel Dan, just before it rained, wrote a song on the way to New Orleans." wvu80
Beach Boys, "I Get Around" About 10 seconds to 15 seconds into the vid. You can actually hear it on the second time through the chorus, you just can't believe what he's singing. Who talks like that? I get around... Town-to-town. I'm ??????????, I'm making real good bread. +++ You can listen to it all you want, but don't Google it. 😎 Spoiler "I'm a real cool head, I'm making real good bread..." Young people just don't talk that way any more.
