Robert Gervais
Anyone using the Parasound CSE 6.1 or other component similar. I have a Denon 5700 I would like to try this with. I run Chorus II's for the mains, KSP C6 center, and S6's for the surrounds. I just purchased a great pair of Quartets on ebay for $325! I thought I would give 6.1/7.1 a shot with the Quartets in back. Any advice or opinions? I wish Denon would have come out with an update for the 5700! chickey
There was a good review of the CSE 6.1 in Sound and Vision earlier this year. The review was generally very favorable, but I recall that the reviewer felt that the DSPs contributed to a slight elevation in the noise levels in the rear channels. Robert Gervais
Any idea on what issue of Sound and Vision that was. Any other ideas on how to convert my 5700 too 7.1? Thanks
aab3rd
I had one earlier. Sold it to someone here while I was waiting on my Outlaw 950. It was a good piece. you could change the back center level but the sides stayed on so you could only do it by ear. IOW you had to mix the two by ear. That was the only thing I did not like about it. boa12
rg, if you have an old receiver sittin around that'll do prologic, you can use that to do 6.1 matrix anyway. 7.1 though i'd think you'd need some other device.
