RRR
I prefer spray method for looks and ease. Tape off what you don't want covered.

If anyone ever wanted to remove the Dynamat at some future time, believe me, it will come off much easier. Also, while applying the Dynamat, use a small roller with some pressure across all surfaces. thanks for the advice!

pcbiz
I used Kilmat on my Heresy I pair, and that simple mod made the bass and mids far more distinct and clear. The upper mids had substantially more clarity. Similar results with my Chorus IIs and '80s La Scalas.
RedBarnApples
Late response, I know. I used car damping mat, sort of like flexible magnet material, on my KHorn mid horn. The glue on this mat would not stick to the rough surface of the horn. So, I used rubber cement on both surfaces. After about 5 years, possibly 8, it fell off. So I reapplied it and held it on with cloth strips. The material had to be cut to fit. 15 years on, it seems OK. Using Basia.Tide and Time album, on one song she comes in as three voices left, right and above or center. Without the damping material, it sounded like possibly 3 voices but was blurred. After damping, three voices were distinct. The tap test was fairly dead originally but totally dead with the mat applied. My KHorns are 1974 vintage. I had already moved the two horns to mount from the front, greatly improving dispersion, particularly the tweeter. I had separated the low and high crossover connections to use bi-wire or bi-amping. To mount from the front, carefully cut the grill cloth leaving enough to fold inside the top unit. This will leave cloth over the wood with the horns exposed once mounted from the front. Looks fine this way, more industrial I suppose.
