I recently retired after 34 years in Law Enforcement. This crime had nothing to do with "political arguments" or a "hostile tone". It was about common thuggery so prevalent in our urban areas. It too is spreading throughout the country and is emboldened by a failure of many systems in society.

"ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The new coronavirus is real.

The response to the coronavirus is hyped. And in time, this hype will be revealed as politically hoaxed.

In fact, COVID-19 will go down as one of the political world’s biggest, most shamefully overblown, overhyped, overly and irrationally inflated and outright deceptively flawed responses to a health matter in American history, one that was carried largely on the lips of medical professionals who have no business running a national economy or government."

If this was happening only in the US, I would buy into her her opinion.

Your point is valid. The shooting is from the violent people who aren't thinking about anyone but themselves, and are not thinking of the future.

There are too many people who 'rely on the system' rather than themselves. The system has been broken from the start and is only making things worse.

Financial crisis; tanking the economy for no good reason.

Nearly 60,000 dead Americans is no good reason?  Everybody is vulnerable.  The Prime Minister of England was infected with COVID-19 and landed in an ICU on oxygen.

In Canada, some meat packing plants were closed because literally hundreds of the employees were infected.  Now, one company has re-opened their plant, but many of the employees admit they’re afraid to go back to work, and their union is seeking an injunction to keep the plant closed until it’s actually safe to do so.

It won't be the reopening we have to worry about, it is the people.  We have scared 50% of them so bad they don't want to come out of their houses.

There's no "we" who have scared them, it's the sight of so many of their coworkers fallen ill that scares them.  Shit got real.

You get to choose your poison.  Broke, busted, can't pay mortgage or rent, lose your livelihood, and/or turn to drugs/suicide or brave the coronavirus and see if you are one of the 50% or 60% that are asymptomatic. That's why I say "We"   We all own responsibility for ourselves, and to some extent others if we can be spreaders.

2 interesting things on the medical front. We’ve been hearing about various expressions of blood clotting problems with covid19. Strokes, rashes etc have been showing up in young adults, kids etc. Medicine is now thinking that along the critical course of covid19 related pneumonia that microemboli settle into the lung vasculature. This fits with how those people fail and usually die. They seem to be managed well and suddenly cannot be oxygenated or ventilated. Whether on a ventilator or not they cannot be oxygenated or ventilated. That is a perfect fit for pulmonary embolism.

2ndly, as you can imagine they’ve been conducting a lot of chest imaging for covid19 patients. They all will get chest X-rays or CT scans of the chest. Many of them get serial exams done. Well it takes time for a radiologist to read those studies and report. That’s taking too long and they’ve not been getting the most from the effort. So now they’ve started to deploy computerized reading of these studies and computerized enhancements of the study itself. Axial A.I. claims to have a program that’s able to predict which patients will progress into the worst complications of covid19. This is one silver lining to a mass presentation of those afflicted with the same ailment. They provide enough volume of study subjects that they can validate new approaches to diagnostics and treatments. In other words we see enough similarly sick people that we can identify patterns of treatments using newer applications of devices and computers. So instead of years to get results for a new method we get find answers in months. And sadly we have the motivation to get new methods ASAP because we need all the help we can get.
