A nice slice of the 60's at the Monteray Pop Festival, with many seeing and hearing Indian music for the first time, with Ravi Shankar. At some point you will see Hendrix, Mickey Dolenz and a few others as well listening,   i think they liked it.

^^^ Father of Norah Jones if ya didn't know.  I found out where she "get it."  He was great!

I did know that.  I've watched that vid at least a dozen times over the years and still enjoy each listen.  I like quite a bit of Indian music, though not often with the Sitar, which is Ravi's instrument.  On a side note, I've read that Ravi did not like Hendrix much, as he considers ones instrument sacred. So, you don't light it on fire.😀

You ever have one of those "keep rewinding to the beginning of the recording moments?

This is mine today after work. I hope you enjoy?

The Lyrics....

Evil shadows they are falling
And the misty-eyed are calling
To a god so far
People, troubled times are coming
Still you wonder why I’m running
I will take no part

[Evil:]
(I know it was you this time;
I know it was you this time;
I’ve seen it with my own two eyes;
you lie, you lie)

[Chorus:]
Unholy so vile
How can you justify a lie?
One more sacred alibi
Concealing your crimes
Until the end of time
Oh why
It’s you that should be crucified

Echoes of your true intentions
Well I guess you failed to mention
What was in your heart
Now I say it all so clearly
What you did to them has nearly
Torn us all apart

[Evil:]
(I know it was you this time;
I know it was you this time;
I’ve seen it with my own two eyes;
took them like a sacrifice;
you lie, you lie)

[Chorus]

[Vocalizations]
You say on your knees that you don’t believe now
Don’t question a thing at all
Just receive what you’re meant to see
Now fall
On your knees

Evil shadow they are falling
And the misty-eyed are calling
You will break their heart

[Chorus]

The broken how they cry
They only gave you heart and mind
How can you justify?
They loved you
Now father don’t deny
You took them like a sacrifice
We finally know the truth about you
Oh yeah

You’re unholy
So vile
How can you justify?
Oh my, how they loved you
Oh yeah
Concealing your crimes
But now they’ll see this time
The blind will deny you

One of the CDs from the Concert for George (Harrison), is all Indian music. More symphonic than one usually hears. It's really nice (as is the other CD).

Once or twice a year something comes up here that reminds me of a fierce disco disc I once had.

Like the glow in the dark competition frisbee that found me at Myrtle beach one year and then I left it there the next summer.

Some things just "Grace" our lives for a short time:
