DIY Project - Match Reference Premiere Finish

Recommended Posts

I have a set of Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers and have been looking into building a sub during this quarantine.  I have them in the ebony finish and I want the sub to match as closely as possible and make it look like a matching speaker in the set.  I've been looking at veneers, laminates, and vinyls to match the sides, top, and back, but haven't found anything I've been completely happy with yet.  The pattern Klipsch uses seems to be pretty unique.  As a bonus I’d love to match the front baffle as well, but I’m less concerned about that because I doubt my ability to pull it off. (I'm not even sure what to call that finish)  Has anyone attempted to make a look-a-like speaker like this? Am I setting myself up for disappointment?
