Coytee
I fall into that camp too.... I'm thankful for it. It would drive me nuts to hear about a certain wire or power cord or something like that is the next & best.... Feel free to chase your nirvana, I'll just turn it up a bit more punchy thank you. That said, I DO tend to listen more for the harmonies or sounds/cords (riffs??)
Moderators dtel Posted June 6, 2020 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2020 Only the music, even though it's the equipment than make it sound so good. 41 minutes ago, RandyH said: and Palladium speakers are the best music reproducers in the klipsch brand - Glad your liking them.
Thaddeus Smith
Quote Do You Listen to the Music or the Equipment? Yes. When I've got new gear or new settings I find myself listening to the equipment for differences, then evaluating whether or not it's a positive or negative effect. Upon completion of those exercises I revert to music listening.
carlthess40
I don’t fall for the cable snake oil crap that goes on around the audio world I do try to use good quality cables. I follow the rules of size vs length charts and try to use a shielded power cables as much as possible. Other then that. I sit bak and enjoy the music. It seems that my wife will change the layout of the tv and front living room about every 90 days. That kills me. Lol and my audio nirvana. I do love hearing the pops in my turntables and the sometimes close tape deck playing. I don’t freak out and take the tape deck apart when that happens. If the tape speed knob can no longer adjust it. Then I’ll take it apart and fix it. I have some many pieces of gear and nothing matches, lol and I don’t care. Here’s a few pics of my spare room and some of my audio gear waiting to be used, and may never be used. Who cares? Not me because it’s all mine and many of you fine folks have helped me to get these things and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys know who you are and thanksHe lets me know when things are getting to loud. LolYesThere’s a method to my madness and messSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

grasshopper
I will listen to good music even if it is a junk rendering. If it is junk music, I listen to the speakers that being said, I do appreciate nice sounding equipment.

Kalifornian
I start by listening to the equipment and then quickly end up listening to the music and then just forget that Im listening and eventually wake up from being on a journey and am thankful for my awesome (to me) equipment that plays wonderful music that takes me on a journey.

Could sound better
I listen to the music, I think. My Cornwall’s sound nice, but my ESS with heils sound good too, albeit different. So I’m not sure if it’s the equipment or the music?
nickyboy6100
I’ll get wrapped up in equipment from time to time, but the music always brings me back to my senses. I do like listening to good music on good equipment though.
garyrc
The dichotomy may be false. I listen to the music, including, of course, all of the beautiful overtones that make up the timbre of each separate instrument, and the dynamics, etc., all of which depend on the quality and idiosyncrasies of the equipment.

Unless you're under 40 .
