phanibal
Hi all! New to this forum and the community and would appreciate some advice! I am new to Dolby Atmos and just picked up 2 pairs of RP-140SAs. I am attempting 7.2.4 and have no idea in the current receiver market to find a mid level priced one that can fire up all of the speakers without getting an amp. I currently have two onkyos 545 and 646 which have not been impressed with and further more does not have dolby atmos. Any help or advice? Thanks in advance! willland
@phanibal, Welcome to the forum. If you are not going to add an amp anytime soon but may in the future, get an upper midlevel AVR with at least stereo preouts and preferably mulitichannel preouts. Many folks will chime in with their favorite brands but most brands have their tier levels that are similar in features and power. A few to look at not knowing your budget limits. https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/onktxrz830ob/onkyo-tx-rz830-9.2-ch-x-120-watts-thx-a/v-receiver-open-box/1.html#!specifications https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx4500h/denon-avr-x4500h-9.2-ch-x-125-watts-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html#!specifications https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionsclx701a/pioneer-elite-sc-lx701-9.2-ch-x-135-watts-a/v-receiver-new/1.html Bill
pbphoto
Yes, any of the Japanese brands with the features you require AND with multi-channel pre-outs. This tends to put you in at least a mid-tier level of quality in the $800-1000 range new, or lower used on accessories4less. If you go used, I would look at Yamaha RX-A line for their build quality.
