Grill cloth for Heritage speakers

Recommended Posts

I’m building new tops for my 1978 decorator Klipschorns. I’ve been reading old threads here about replacing grill cloth.

Will Wendell Fabrics and or Duracrest Fabrics still sell just enough fabric to me to do my Klipschorns in black? I’m guessing 2 to 3 yards.

How’s Bob Crites’s grill cloth?

Any members have some for sell?

Any other suggestions where to buy from?

I’d really like to have some grill cloth that looks like the black cloth that Klipsch put on their Heritage speakers, but thinner more acoustically transparent! The cloth Klipsch used was somewhat thick.

I’d like to use the typical modern thin smooth stretchable nylon black cloth, but it wouldn’t look right.

Best glue to adhere grill cloth?

I’m soon buying Bob Crites’s A/4500 crossovers and CT120 tweeters to put in them. I’m using Bob’s A/AA with oil can caps now that I bought fourteen years ago. I keep them as an AA.

How big of an improvement is Bob Crites’s A/4500 crossovers over an AA 6000hz?

I read here many feel his CT120 tweeters are big improvements. Comments?

hot gun glue ,  and a lot of staples work best  -  even a hot soldering  iron to melt the ends of the nylon fabric

Yes it takes 2 yards cut 36 x 144 to do khorns.

A 36 x 72 did cornies and a forte.

I'll just hang on to it.

I thought you wanted a swath to check out.

Thank you. I appreciate your reply and kind offer though.

Thank you!, but I need enough to do a pair of Klipschorns, enough for the six grills.

it's always good to have extras ---order a  yard more than you need -
