Struggling on which Klipsch speaker to replace my Elac UB5 with

 I currently have the Elac UB5 as bookshelves and I'm looking to replace them with bookshelves from Klipsch, since I am getting bored with the Elac. They are decent speakers, but I feel like I need to change things up or potentially downsize and I desperately need a center channel since dialog is hard to hear. I'm a budget audiophile guy and I know in audio you quickly reach the law of diminishing returns. I want to get 90% there at a good cost instead of 100% and blow a budget.

 

I live in a small 1-bedroom apartment and the living room isn't that large maybe, 12' by 10', hardwood floors and all glass on one end. No subwoofer is going to be used, in order not to annoy neighbors.

 

I, potentially, plan to sell my Elac UB5 (4 1/2" woofer)  for about 300$ to fund this purchase and add another $200 at most for the inclusion of a center channel.

Which permutation of Bookshelves + Center makes the most sense here? 

 

The most "basic" option would be to get the Elac Debut 2 C5.2, but I think I'm itching to change things up.

Welcome to the forum.

 

Move the Elacs to a another room and get a some Klipsch RP bookshelf speakers and a matching RP center speaker.  IMO, opt for RPs over basic current Reference Klipsch.

You need to stick with a timbre' matched trio.  Changing the center will gain you nothing and send your system backwards.
