bribassguy
I heard you guys like big horns and guess what? I do too. B&C made a post on their FB page announcing a large horn specifically made for their top of the line HF/MF coax driver DCX464. From the looks of it, the target market could be cinemas/auditoriums or maybe even a bone for the DIY crowd... It looks similar to the prototype test horn used for the initial DCX464 tests, which has a 1.4" entry and loads down to 320Hz. Wirrunna
Interesting post. What is a B&C DCX464 ? A Google quick search found https://audioxpress.com/article/test-bench-b-c-speakers-dcx464-high-power-coaxial-compression-driver-and-horn and a thread - https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/335600-dcx464.html No mention of the DCX464 on the Klipsch forums that I can see. But this coaxial solves the time alignment issue between mid and hi.

In the BMS 4592ND, there is a one wavelength time lead that the HF diaphragm has over the midrange diaphragm at the natural crossover frequency (145 microseconds). I would assume that the new B&C driver has the same time delay of the midrange diaphragm relative to the HF diaphragm. No matter--it's easily correctable using one of these plus another stereo amplifier: https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/minidsp-2x4-hd Once you do correct the BMS 4592ND on a K-402 horn, the sound is indistinguishable from TAD TD-4002s, I've found. It looks like it will be the same for this new B&C driver, too. Chris
Marvel
The BMS is over a $100 less per driver...
bribassguy
And the B&C is supposed to be $100 to $150 less than the BMS. I think the horn might by a DIY hit if it really loads down to about 300 Hz.
