winko
STELLAR CURBSIDE FIND NEAR PITTSBURGH My husband is over the moon. He found these Heresy speakers by the side of the road this morning on his way back from doing errands. "I've been wanting a pair of these my whole life. Couldn't afford them back in the day, so had to settle for JBLs" From all the great info on this site, I think they are... Pair of 1978 Klipsch Heresy I speakers built by Andy, assisted by Steve sanded by gold ol' chain smoking Ola Mae Davis tested by NW Bradford (a guess only, from comparing the tiny bit of legible signature with images from comparable Ebay listings) slant risers - not exact same wood although missing most of labels and the top back corner of one of them is pretty bunged up, appear to be in decent, original condition. Hubby says they are oiled walnut Guesstimate $800 value plus shipping for the pair (if they work) (but not planning on selling them) Have I gone astray anywhere? Does anyone have anything to add? Haven't tested them yet. Any advice in that department? Thanks, in advance, for any info | help | advice ! winko
Thank you for the feedback. Is that for the pair? Edited August 1, 2020 by winko Typo
OO1
yes , the average price in good condition is 500-600$ , so these are worth less as they need some refinishing ,the badges are missing -------did you audition these speakers

DizRotus
Congratulations and welcome. I look forward to a report regarding their function. It’s important to verify the operation of the tweeters. If the woofers or midrange aren’t working it’ll be obvious, not so with tweeters. The simplest way is to put an ear to the tweeter while blocking the output from the midrange. winko
Haven't tested them yet. Might be a few weeks now, as we just left town for a few weeks.

That's when the spiders crawl out. You should have tested them first.

Islander
My 1974 La Scalas were inspected or tested by someone whose signature looked more like MW Bradford, but the writing is a bit ambiguous, so it could possibly be MW or NW. Anyway, congrats on your lucky find, and welcome to the Forum!
