*SOLD* Vintage Klipsch Heresy I Wood Loud Speakers HBR Consecutive Serials

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am actually posting this for my dad who purchased these speakers brand new in 1981. He is finally ready to downsize and moving in with us and ready to get rid of his "babies".  He lives in the Houston Texas downtown area. If you have any questions, please let me know and I can get any details you need.

1980 Klipsch Heresy I Wood HBR 10" Inch Loud Speakers. Still sound amazing and work great. Consecutive serial numbers.

I asked my dad and he said he's not sure but the stain has been there since 1985 or so and has not had any effect on the speaker's sound or performance whatsoever.

Reminds me of the guy in a bar who pulls out a tiny piano, puts it on the bar, and then places a 10” piano player at the piano.  The bartender asks where he got them.  The man tells him that a hard of hearing genie granted him one wish.

OBTW, Heresys have a nominally 12” woofer.

GLWS.

I just want to add that we are currently in Houston but moving to the Denver Colorado area by the middle of September. If anyone is in that area we could bring the speakers to you via the move.

I have them posted at 999 but we are open. What do you guys seems like a fair price for both parties? Like it says, they sound excellent and look decent. Both were bought at the same time and have sequential serials.

Difficult to price other people s

audio gear. Usually that is sorted out before they are listed. Some ads list a price here with OBO, or best offer.

Thanks!

Beings that you  asked, 3-500.  Others may chime in and tell me if I'm off base.

Did he have a cat?

If you're talking about the wood, it's 100% original.

exactly what I was thinking ----or a medium  dog

OK that is certainly possible. But I can guarantee you that the old man hasn't had a dog in more than 30 years. lol

Yes, the wood. If they’ve never been stained that adds value,  at least in my opinion.

---to remove it -----unscrew the rear cover , remove the woofer wires from the barrier strip ,  unscrew the woofer -wipe the wooden area with Lysol spray  using a wet soft   cloth -------------dab  -and wipe  the entire woofer   very softly  -----let dry -
