dbomberger
In my recent attempt to tidy up the presentation of my system, I have acquired a nice piece of furniture with 3 large doors each about 23 x 24. The doors are solid wood. I'd like to have the center door redone and largely covered with some material that is not necessarily see thru (unless there is no other option). Are there cloth, speaker grille type materials that would serve this purpose, or will I need to metal screen type. The nicest might be grille covering material that would match or accent my Cornwall IV's which I have on each end of the piece. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as would sources for such. Thanks Del Bomberger
Edgar
https://www.eplastics.com/plexiglass/acrylic-sheets/ir-transmitting -- "Note: All plexiglass sheet is infrared transmitting. This grade is opaque to visible light and allows infrared light through. Unlike glass, you can put all grades of plexiglass in front of DVR's, cable boxes, DVD players, etc. and your remote control, wireless router, etc. will still work. This particular acrylic material is black and only transmits infrared, which makes it ideal for hiding a CCD video camera." If you want cloth instead, search for "infrared transparent material". There are a few cloth materials mentioned in the results.

I'll check out all options, but I can certainly visualize the acrylic in black as fitting well.
Fido
My entertainment center has cane grills on them and sometimes my remote cant clearly see my Yamaha AVR - I bought a remote sensor that I could mount with much better line of sight and it was approx $10 on Amazon and it works great - now I can mount the remote sensor anywhere I want https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014EDRJB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Shiva
You might look into an IR repeater kit, which will allow you to keep things as they are and still control everything within the cabinet. https://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Repeater-Control-Devices-Extender/dp/B01N674PE9/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1ELPETTD0UZ4J&dchild=1&keywords=ir+repeater+kit&qid=1597587989&sprefix=ir+repeater%2Caps%2C227&sr=8-6
