Is it real, or is it Klipsch?

This was done in 1956.  The results were not stated in the article.  I’m surprised that such powerful amps were used considering that PWK had once stated that far less power would be needed to fill a huge concert hall.

Gray amplifiers were among best available in 1956. It likely had more to do with quality than power.

It’d be interesting to see this repeated today in some level of competition between high end manufacturers. No doubt several would eclipse Klipsch but at what system cost? Of course most people are unaware that most movie theaters use Klipsch products and for some reason Klipsch does not inform them as they sit as a captured audience.

I have always thought that PWK favored Brook push pull triode amps but could be mistaken.

Agree you would think when they run through all the pre program bits that the last title they play before the movie would be the Klipsch Keepers of the sound logo. It's the first thing I do when I go to sit down is look to see what brand the speakers are. Normally its either JBL or Klipsch.

It is true but perhaps PWK was working with Hartford locals on this event. Perhaps Jim has some info. @jimhunter

I wonder why PWK didn't include this in the Audio Papers.
