Icon SB1 optical input won’t accept the male end.

Recommended Posts

My icon SB1 won’t accept the optical line anymore. Nothing appears to be damaged, but the line won’t stay put. I’ve tried different lines and they are very loose in the optical input on the soundbar. What are my options here?

Welcome to the Forum. I'm sure some suggestions will come along shortly.

I'm guessing Texas is in the mix here somewhere.

Welcome to the forum and from what you said, "anymore" going to take it that it did.

Look at what may have changed since disconnecting.

Use a magnifying glass to look into the the recepticle for a clue.

Thanks!

Regular, yes, it previously worked.

Think your topic here would be better served here in the personal music systems subforum.

Did the optical cable input originally have a dust cover flap, similar to the gray hatch in my picture, the part that is pushed up during cable insertion? If that flap broke off, then the cable will be loose and not stay in place.

If that were to happen to the device in my picture, I would slightly loosen the nearby screw, wrap a twist tie from a bread bag around the screw and then around the optical cable to hold it in place until I could find a replacement optical port. Then I would install the new port.
