Edgar Posted October 5, 2020 Share Posted October 5, 2020 Anybody have an actual GPA 399 compression driver that they can measure? The GPA spec sheet says, "Depth = 5.8 inches (less mounting studs)." But the drawing shows the body to be 3.88 inches deep plus 1 inch for the studs. I'm designing an enclosure and I have enough room for 3.88 inches, but if it's actually 4.8 inches then I need to modify. Funny thing is, I worked with Bill Hanuschak at Altec Lansing in the 1990s ... had a desk not 20 feet from his lab. But it's obvious that he doesn't remember me. I've been trying to reach GPA for months; at least a half-dozen phone calls, email messages, and contacts through ebay. No response. Some reconing policies have changed a bit wrt supplying other coning vendors and shipping, but service is available and new products are available. Go nose around the Altec boards for details. I think we could all start on a rant about what the country has lost with normal attrition the last 40 or 60 years (and sum-up with "stay off my lawn").
