I had nothing to do with it, other than offer aspirin. I read what was said earlier today and stayed away. Looked later and saw that several posts were missing. So much for the plutonium nyborg.

Not dismissal  but, will look into the K2 sub... Thanks...

When the virus is found in dogs and cats will they be killed also, and will people be forced to have their pets tested?

Minks are an unsavory agri industry in Europe. They are bred and kept to harvest fur. Like any such business huge numbers of these minks are farmed. So the high density caged population is especially susceptible to the spread of any disease. So as has been done with chickens, ducks and other livestock to control the disease infected and exposed animals will be destroyed. Of course pets in homes are kept in an entirely different circumstance and there are isolation guidelines should a pet become covid19 positive.

What about animal shelters?  Would you kill off all the animals there?  Regarding our food supply, it’s entirely possible that the virus will ultimately mutate and infect virtually all animals.  Would you then kill all of them and eat synthetic food instead?  Sadly, we humans think we can kill off all pathogens.  Unfortunately, they are much smarter than we are.

Well if we’re gonna stretch the hypothetical step up to cattle lots and herds of sheep, etc. Fortunately this has not occurred but you’re correct, covid19 could mutate and hammer us all into oblivion. And if not covid19 perhaps the next contagion that gets loose will accomplish our eradication. This is among the perils of living.....  animals are vulnerable to diseases.....  and meteors....   and tsunamis, etc.

Medical science generally works to manage diseases. Sometimes it strives to eliminate a pathogen like polio. Covid19 will now join other known pathogens and all are willing to infect the susceptible, humans or animals. But there will be a covid19 vaccine. If necessary it will be updated.

Actually one of the silver linings to this pandemic is that medical science was funded and mandated to deliver a vaccine ASAP. So many new development pathways were undertaken that otherwise would have waited. We now have new tools and methods to build new vaccines/medicines and mass produce them quickly. So because of covid19 we are much better prepared to craft new vaccines and new medications. And from this new baseline other advances will follow.

There are millions/billion of known unique viruses and other microbes. Every living thing cohabitates with tons of microbes. Over time science has learned about them and how to deal with them. Right now the toughest job should be the easiest one....;. getting the rest of humanity to listen to what science directs - for humanities own good. If we don’’t listen we suffer the consequences.
