The United States could face as many as 100,000 more Covid-19 deaths in less than a month, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

who'd want to live to be 100 these days?  You'd have to be a cockeyed optimist to think that things are going to get better.

funny, a few hours ago, I was remembering a doctor telling me that I wouldn't live to see age 40.  He was wrong -- I think.

I haven't read anything yet that makes me think this is worse or more deadly than the common flu.

so, what do you think 10 months later?  I'm sure that the Spanish Flu would have been far less severe had the same hygienic principles that we use today were used then. Not a medical historian, so I have no idea when masks came into use in the medical setting.  So, it would be interesting to compare the two pandemics using the same parameters ... either hand washing, isolating and mask wearing for both or not using them for both.

All I know is that it seems like viruses get smarter a lot faster than people do.
