k-401 horns

Sunday morning work .

 

cut of the top and bottom and the guide for the spacing

bending sides ... my 6mm sides are too firm and don't want to bend. Every day, i bend they more and more .. hope they won't break

 

I still have to sand a little to equalize

If this proves too difficult, I know someone with two 401's.  He may sell them as he's had them for some time.

very hard to bend 15 mm medium wood

 

maybe I should make grooves in the wood (widthwise) particularly where the tension is the strongest (visible on the photos)

you could use   a steamer to bend wood  ------

Effectivement   Le  MDF est un bois de composition assez dense ,   au pire , vous pouvez le tailler de facon transversale pour le plier car vous n'avez pas d'appareil de vapeur

I don't have a table saw but a plunge saw. it must work ..

i don't think, that this will make the difference -i have less than 1 mm in regard of the normal size of the horn

tomorrow i am redoing my horn sides, i was a few centimeters wrong in their length - i was stupid when cutting 😕

You can try it. Usually within a half octave will stll work. Might get a linttle wonky, but it's a well made horn.
