tripod Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Seriously, how do you pronounce NAD? Is it an abbreviation... N....A....D or a word of its own "nad"? Thanks! Quote
kenratboy Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Now that you dring it up, I HAVE NO CLUE!!! I say it like the word, like, "I got kicked in the NAD's.) Quote
boa12 Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 that was also the name of our college intramural broomball team "the nads". our cheerleaders would yell "go nads!". Quote
tripod Posted December 1, 2002 Author Posted December 1, 2002 That's just the situation I'm trying to avoid. Me: "How about a nad amp?" Response: Smirk So, anyone know the official pronunication? Quote
DeanG Crossovers Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 N.A.D. But everyone says "nad", including N.A.D. Quote
tripod Posted December 1, 2002 Author Posted December 1, 2002 The nads have it! Thanks for the info. Quote
dougdrake Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 FWIW - I have a NAD, and I've always heard it referred to (and said it myself) as N. A. D., never pronounced as a word... DD Quote

BBB Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Ooops. Be careful NOZ. You might be punished for using B.A.D. language. Quote
NOZ Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 OOPS, I'm sorry all, didn't mean any harm. Hee, Hee. Hey, what's wrong with a naked a$$???? Quote
DeanG Crossovers Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Ears -- "NAD" is not a word, it is an acronym. Technically, it's N.A.D. I can't help it that marketing people don't know English. I'm sure the periods were left out so people would say "Nad", instead of "N. A. D." Incidently, John's post was not a joke. "NAD" indeed stands for "New Acoustic Dimension". Quote
BBB Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 That's much better NOZ. Just as long as you are aware you've gotta pay the BIG $$ to use words like that around here. Quote
tripod Posted December 1, 2002 Author Posted December 1, 2002 Damn! Just when I thought it was settled, I come back 2 hours later and you guys have me unsure again. I think that I'll go with N.A.D. I know it's petty, but it always bothers me when people mispronounce things and act as if they know what they're talking about. I think N.A.D. is a little safer than going around referring to nad like I'm some bigshot. Of course, please be assured that I do realize how inconsequential this whole matter is. But hey, if you have a question, ask it. Quote
Jim Cornell Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 The company had a cilmax, and called there products NAD S LOL! Hats off to John Warren, i would of never known! Quote
