Yeah it was hard to tell on my phone there was two separate listings for the "76's" with different picture sets for each listing so I thought they were separate pairs looked like one set was in nicer shape than the other had one pair been "mint"

Yeah, they all had the same chew place on the side, so I looked at the serial numbers. I am old school and avoid using my phone to look at anything, unless I am away from a computer. I still don't know how you phone users surf porn on your phones....  😁

I guess the great RB-76 mystery will live on... perhaps a prototype of a new model! Why are these things always located diagonally as far from me as possible?

Can it be shipped to you? $400 shipped is still a deal on the 81lls.

Might be possible, depends on the seller, in this case looks like yes.  But the shipping and if the border guys want to charge ... that's highly unpredictable ... I was half considering it for the RB-75 because I need (WANT) another set of bookshelf speakers.  My audio fund is a bit depleted right now, I have 2 amps for sale here ... if they sell I'll be in a better situation to chase US based speaker fun!

I am curious... Does anyone know if the driver needs to be removed from the horn on the RB-81?

*****

I didn't buy the RB-76 75, but if someone on here did, the shipper NEEDS to remove the driver off of the horn or there will a real chance the speaker will arrive broken and there are no replacement parts.

I'm the lucky (hopefully) new owner of the "RB-76's" listed this week.  Can't wait to get them!

Welcome to the forum.

Congrats on picking up the RB-75's.  That is THE legendary stand speaker that Klipsch makes.  Everyone here wishes they had one too at a great price.

*FYI*

If they are being shipped, there needs to be care taken that is not obvious. Several buyers have receives the RB75 in unusable condition due the driver (magnet) being too heavy for the horn to tolerate the handling during shipping and it breaks the horn. There are no replacement horns to be had from anyplace that I know of. If there is any way to have the drivers removed from the horns, packed and shipped in a different container might make the difference in getting speakers that you can use or not.

Thanks for the heads up on the horn disassembly guys, but they were already shipped before I learned this.  The shipper was a thrift shop owner, so I doubt this level of attention would have been given anyway.  Toes and fingers are crossed, and I'll keep you posted.  ETA 12/9.

I would not accept the package until I opened it to check the horns. @Pats3of4 and @opusk2k9 might chime in to tell you what to look for.

I had a RC64 shipped to me that as soon as I saw the box I knew there was areal chance of damage. I opened it in while the UPS driver watched. It was damaged, and I still had a tough time collecting the insurance money.

I also had that experience with an RC-64. Moving the box from the porch into my house, I could hear a detached magnet rolling around within the speaker cabinet. It caused a lot of wrecking ball damage. Dealing with shipping insurance was not a headache, which must have been just luck. It was sent via UPS.

Let us know how it turns out in a couple days.

They shipped in two boxes, and the first arrived today.  Packaged extremely well, double box with foam between.  The tweeter looks fine, but will it be obvious if there is damage?

Fedex delivered one box 2 days early, the second speaker left Florida this morning....wtf?

You'll hear/feel stuff rolling around inside.  Wouldn't be a bad idea to remove either the woofer or the tweeter horn and double check that all the wiring is secure on both when you get them.
