MSU - 83

UDM - 76

After beating Duke, Spartans were flat against University of Detroit Mercy.  A let down after a big win is to be expected, but Izzo’s pep talk at halftime, did little to wake Sparty.  It was especially distressing since it was UDM’s first game.  The game was closer than the score indicates.

OSU hoops cancelled their game today.  A road trip South since the other team had some covid cases.  It's gonna be crazy again..  Even more so with fewer players on the teams.  Increible odds keeping covid contained on a smaller team.  It's all so depressing especially when so many people depend on that sports "fix."

Spartans vs Cavaliers tonight at 9:15 EST.  The Hauser brothers face off.  If Sparty doesn’t play better than they did in the UDM and WMU games, it won’t go well for Joey.  After knocking off Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, MSU has looked vulnerable.

The IZ will dial them in?  Might have to watch and see what shakes out.  Guess OSU got ND by 5 last night.  Didn't watch it but interesting win. I like Holtman, he's a great recruiter and has already got a couple nice players committed.  Enjoy watching him but he's running with the big boys now.  Iz is one of the best in the country.

The Spartans play Oakland University today at noon.  Oakland is a local Division 1 team that is consistently a contender in the Horizon League.  This year they are 0-6, having lost to Xavier, Toledo, Bradley, Michigan, Purdue, Oklahoma State.  Although Oakland is 0-17 vs Sparty, if the Spartans don’t take the Golden Grizzlies seriously, this might be the day that zero becomes a 1.

Buckeye hoops stinks!  I've watched the last two games and man they better get their Schitt together.  No teamwork, too many "hot shots," no focus, just disappointing in every way.  Better against Purdue but still didn't play ball.  NC Saturday?  Yea, maybe, but I'm thinking -15 on the final horn.  Disappointing.

The Badgers next Friday are better than the Wildcats.  Sparty must play much better or it will not be a Merry Christmas for Izzo next Friday.

The announcers repeatedly mentioned that the last time Northwestern upset a top five team was 1979 against Magic and the Spartans, who went on to win the NCAA.  Perhaps this was part of a plan . . . NAAAHH..

The Spartans try to right the ship tonight in a game against Nebraska.  The talented individual Spartans do not include a point guard with the leadership desire and capacity of Cassius Winston, Mateen Cleaves, Magic Johnson, or the like.

Apparently, Rocket Watts went to Izzo to advise him that he did not want to play point guard.  If true, that his a huge problem.  A leader must want to lead.  A reluctant leader is unlike to generate an enthusiastic following.  The Spartans desperately need a leader on the floor.

The NCAA just announced that all tournament games will be played in Indiana. They will use four arenas around Indianapolis.....Hinkle Fieldhouse (Butler) Indiana Farmers (Indiana St Fair) Lucas Oil, Bankers Life. And they will use Assembly Hall (IU) and Mackie Arena (Purdue)
