1957 Klipschorn

I just acquired a pair of 1957 Klipschorn with almost consecutive serial numbers. Everything is original. Cabinet’s have the normal wear and tear for the age but nothing too bad.  I am having a hard time finding anywhere to find information on what the value today might be.  Or the quality of the drivers, horns and crossovers. I have tried to upload photos but says too large any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you for your time

Welcome!

There are several apps that you can use to re-size pictures to be small enough in file size to be able to post them on here.

In the years that I've been on here I've seen prices range from about $500 up to about $3,000 for vintage Klipschorns depending on condition of the cabinets and components.  Pictures will definitely help.

That might be easy....  did you purchase them, inherit them, find them on the side of the road?

If you purchased them, then that right there will give you an idea of their worth given it's what you paid.  Are you flipping them? (why else would you care about the value of something you might have just purchased....and if inherited, the sentimental value would ostensibly be priceless)

I always find it intriguing when someone recently "acquires" something and THEN makes haste to try to find out what they're worth.

Tell us more about them.

Welcome.

I’m intrigued by the fact that a “pair” of ‘57 speakers has almost consecutive serial numbers, as stereo was not yet well established.

As has been suggested, value can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on many variables such as cabinet type, component manufacturers, squawker horn, and location.  Where are the speakers located?

Until someone opens the bass bins, it’s impossible to know the manufacturer(s) of the woofers.  It’s possible that two different woofers exist.

I don't know if this relates to our OP 'AudioAddictions' or not....but I just saw the following AND the listing has evidently been flagged (deleted?)

The link did not work for me, he's not yet returned/responded.  My radar says he's trying to flip whatever they are and came here to find a value.  Just a suspicion mind you.

If these are them, they both shipped to Bill Case of San Antonio May 14, 1958.  The 1957 date is on the mid horn, which was frequently earlier than the system ship.  They are not quite "un-molested", as the SAHF midrange has been replaced with a K-55.
