junior93657
hi I came across 2 pairs of klipsch heresy one pair says they are HWR and I sanded them down cause of a bad stain job that was done prior. anyone here recommend and what stain/oil to use to get them to look like a nice walnut finish? 001
im sure others will have more suggestions, but lots of guys like watco rejuvenating oil. howards also has a "restore a finish" product in walnut color that works well. you can also stain them & apply a coat of poly for better protection than just oil. & welcome to the forum, lots of great info on here. JohnA
Watco Danish Oil will give a nice color and light protection. Follow that with a coat of Boiled Linseed oil in a few days. After 3 or 4 days rub that lightly with fine steel wool for a satin finish.
HPower
junior, You could maybe consider applying some paper backed Walnut veneer, for a "real" Walnut look. I use Heatlock glue with a common household cloths iron. https://www.veneersupplies.com/products/Better-Bond-Heat-Lock-Veneer-Glue.html It really is not that difficult and when finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C (pics below are the "Pure" color), looks outstanding! https://www.rubiomonocoatusa.com/collections/oil-plus-2c/products/oil-plus-2c-350ml
