JCW
Hi, I have an issue with my Heresy HBR. I have some crispy and dirty noise into the high / medium. I don't know exactly if it's coming from the speaker or the crossover. The louder I go the more I notice this. With low level listening you did not hear it. When listening high it's horrible. I have added a quick clip, the right speaker is the one with the issue. Does someone has noticed this before? JohnA
That sounds like amplifier clipping. However, open the back and check/clean the connections to the crossover and drivers. If that doesn't change anything, swap speakers from one channel to the other. If that doesn't change anything, swap squawkers from one speaker to the other. If that doesn't change the sound, the problem in in the crossover.
Peter P.
Sounds like the spider for the woofer. Remove the grill and observe both woofers at a level that produces the noise. Does it appear the suspect woofer moves differently? Watch both the cone and the surround. It should be pretty obvious if there's a difference. And go with JohnA's suggestion to swap speakers to see if the problem follows the speaker. Report back.
