bs817
Hello, So I purchased the R-51PM. I hooked up the speakers to my tv (LG CX) via the digital optical cable. There is a static/buzzing like sound that happens. No audio can be heard through the static buzzing, I can only hear static buzzing. When I hooked it up through BT it works fine. Any idea what may be causing this?

Put the tosslink optical cable all the way into the port, and hold it up your hand, piece of paper etc to see the red light, then insert it all the way into the receiver port. Optical may have a break if bent too far, plastic is inferior to glass. Try a different optical cable I prefer optical for optical isolation between systems. Make sure the transmitter is set to PCM, receiver should automatically pick it up, if settings, check them. set the tv to 2.0 PCM Test the cable with other gear, see if the problem persists. Once you have a known good cable, swap the components one a time to see if one fails aka black box method. PCM Toslink is low-speed low-tech so it is proven and reliable. It's possible the transmit or receive chip set is bad, but unlikely. Make sure toslink is selected with the remote. Quote When I hooked it up through BT it works fine. What is a BT ? Blue tooth, got it. Different chip set on receiver.

Moobz87
I have a similar problem speakers work fine through Bluetooth or phono but when I connect via lineout to TV and it just has static noise. Cable plugs straight into old soundbar and works fine
