jfjacques
Hi all - Noticed that one of the woofers on my beloved Academy has a rattle to it - looks like this is no longer made any chance anyone has a "Spare" they might be willing to sell?? Thanks! James
Micklipsch
Hi. Just a quick thought—did you check if the dust cap was 100% sealed and seated? Sometimes all it takes is a little inconspicuous section to become unglued and hover just proud of the woofer, creating a rattle noise during excursion. Great tip - I had that happen on my Forte's years ago and didn't remember that until you mention it. I will definitely take a look and see! Wouldnt that be great if that were it!

GREAT NEWS! the dust cap on the offending woofer was hanging on by a thread - I took it out today cleaned it up and re-glued will wait 24 hours to test but looks promising. The other woofer dust cap was also starting in one spot to come off so I carefully took an exacto and took that one off and glued that one as well.
jfjacques
Thanks again everyone for the tips - the glue has set and it’s working perfectly! Gave the walnut a refresh while it was disconnected and added the badge to match the Chorus2 in my setup.
Micklipsch
Love, love that walnut finish. So it appears the wayward dust caps were the culprit after all! Glad to have helped save you unnecessary searching, expense and heartache.
