Recommend Vintage Amps

I currently have a pair of stock Quartets and I'm planning on getting either a pair of Heresy IIIs or Cornwalls in the future. I'd like to try my hand at restoring a vintage amp that will work well for my current and future vintage speakers. I was wondering what everyone else uses and if there were any hidden gems out there that aren't crazy expensive.

Here are a few local examples of vintage amps I found:

the Marantz seems to be both more modern and high quality , and offer 100 wpc

I actually grabbed one of the Pioneer SX-535s for $100 in pretty great shape, I'm waiting for the LED kit to come in so I can get it running cooler. I have my eyes on a Harman Kardon next, there's a 330c for $180 near me and a few older posts of 430s on Offerup that I'm trying to make a deal on.

+1 on the Vintage HK 630-930. Sounds so rich warm and luscious with Fortes.

I’d not rule out an refurbished Dynaco ST SS Amp. Recently paired with Fortes and sounds amazing!

Good luck with whatever you choose 👍🏻👍🏻

Keep an eye out for a Luxman R-115. Power specs are underrated, (brochure says 70w, testing says 85w). It & it's more expensive big brother (R-117) sound "warm" & go GREAT with older Klipsch.

I could not agree more.  Big regrets selling both my R-117 and R-115.

I have a Luxman L-309 (circa 1973, I think) that sounds fantastic with Klipsch. A bonus is the output trim pots on the back. It helps give more useful range on the main volume control on highly sensitive Klipsch speakers. I mainly have used it with Khorns. Also great with Cornwall & Heresy.
