the theatre room is new construction, after the set up is decided only then the interior along with wiring will be completed

In that case, I would seriously consider doing in-ceiling speakers for Atmos.

also we are planning on doing behind screen speakers any thoughts on that?

is that a good approach ?

Yeah, that is good way to do it, but in that case, you could do your LCR as three exact same speakers. In other words, instead of the 504C, get another exact same speaker as your left and right main speakers so that they are all perfectly match timbre, height and performance wise...

I also noticed in a reply further down that you want to do in-wall. If that's the case, you might want to look at Klipsch's THX CINEMA SERIES or their PROFESSIONAL SERIES from their custom install section. These speakers might be better suited for an infinite baffle setup than your floor standing speakers.

what receiver would be your personal choice ?

I'm a Yamaha fan and use the RX-A3070, but you would need an additional external amplifier to power the front left and right channels in a 7.2.4 setup, as it has 11 channels of processing but only 9 are amplified. For this reason I didn't recommend it to you, as the Denon and Marantz's you are considering will give you all 11 channels powered. I don't have personal experience with Denon or Marantz receivers, so I'll leave it to others to recommend which one to go with.

Excellent choice for Front Left, Center, Right, but as I mentioned in a previous response, I wouldn't use the up-firing atmos modules (just leave them disconnected)... if I remember correctly, you said you already have these speakers, which is great, use them. But if you're going out and buying them, then just get the RP-8000F's instead... same speaker but without the up-firing Atmos modules.

No issue with this if you already own the speakers, but as with the above, I would not use the up-firing Atmos modules. Also, I think the Surround (or side surround as you called it in your list) is more important than the rear surround, so consider using these as the surrounds instead if they fit in with the layout and design of your room. If they're too big for the room space wise, then sell them and replace with the RP-600M's.

We call this the "Surround" channel, but yes, they usually go on the side next to or slightly behind the main listening position on the side walls. As mentioned above, consider putting the RP-280's here, or replace them with RP-600M's. Then use the RP-500M's as your "Rear Surrounds".

Excellent choice.

No issues with this, these are what most people use... but you can also use the PRO-180RPC for this purpose if you don't already have the 5800's. I only have personal experience with the PRO-180RPC. Check the price differences perhaps, and choose from there... and maybe also ask your Klipsch dealer which model they would recommend and why.

Excellent choice, although I don't have personal experience with Marantz, but I know many that love them... 🙂

I hope this helps.

How will i wire the 3 front Klipsch- 8060FA-2-way FS SPKR W/DBY. will i connect the center channel from the receiver to one of these speakers ?

Sorry, I'm reading my emails in reverse clearly... yes, center channel output of receiver will go to the main binding posts of one of the  8060FA's, then left to another one and right to the third one... don't connect anything to the binding posts for the Dolby Atmos modules... does this clear that up for you?

Great information, thank you so much for the hand holding and explaining each steps clearly. I will follow it up and go ahead and check the price of the speakers and buy/replace them accordingly.

will post back once I have a list set up

Hi Fero,

I too am in process of upgrading my HT and going through much the same thought process as you are here, so maybe these ideas might help.

My HT is 15x25 feet and is a 7.1.4 system with Atmos speakers installed in the ceiling. I had three Heresy's across the front wall of my HT but decided I wanted them moved behind the screen (much cleaner look). The screen rests on an exterior wall with 2x6 studs so I would have only been able to install narrow speakers that would fit in the 5 inch space between the studs.

We recently had some renovation work done so I took the opportunity to have a 22 inch deep wall built out (see photos) that would allow me to put decent speakers behind the screen. I am just finishing it and am now in the process of selecting my anticipated/desired equipment that I will be looking to buy here shortly. I chose to use separates for the audio gear for the best sound quality. We enjoy watching BluRay/4K music concerts along with movies so sound quality is important.

[***] denotes existing gear that will be staying.

LCR Speakers: Klipsch RP series (ALWAYS use the same Center speaker as the L & R speakers)

Subwoofers: Klipsch SPL-150 x 2 to give me a 7.2.4 system

[***] Surround/Atmos Speakers: Triad Silver series

Preprocessor - Anthem AVM70, $3.5K https://www.anthemav.com/index.php

LCR Amplifier: Emotiva XPA-DR3 Three Channel Amp, $2K (450 watts/channel) https://emotiva.com/collections/amps/products/xpa-dr3

Surrounds Amplifier: Emotiva XPA-9 Nine Channel Amp, $2K (300/65 watts/channel) https://emotiva.com/collections/amps/products/xpa-9-gen3

Projector: True 4K, Sony VPL-VW715ES, $10K or the 915ES, $20K http://www.sonypremiumhome.com/projectors/

[***] Screen: Seymour AV Metro150, $3.5K, this is an acoustically transparent screen

[***] BD/DVD player: Oppo 205, no longer available

I currently use the Anthem MRX1120 ($3.5K) and it is an excellent 11.2 pre-amp with 11 channels of amplification. I also use an Epson 5040 projector ($3K) with the Seymour AV acoustic screen ($3K). The projector is a faux-K meaning it uses some magic to take a 1080p picture up to a 4K-like picture. The screen is the Metro 150 model (150 inches x 68 inches) which has a diagonal of 163 inches, so it is BIG. In three years of watching movies, we all think the picture is fantastic!

Some last things: your room is almost 10 feet longer so make sure you put a 1 foot riser platform at the back. You might regret not doing this down the road. Oh, and acoustic panels. Do not forget those. And make sure your projector has lens shift capability to allow you to adjust the viewing size for different movie sizes (16/9, 2.35, 2.4, etc.)

Hope this helps! I have more photos if wanted. Any questions pls ask.
