couch
Hi there. I'm looking at upgrading my front speakers. I have a 7.1 Klipsch surround system from 2014 . 2x RF-52 II 4x RS-42 II 1x RC-52 II R-12SW Notwithstanding, I am looking at getting a pair of RP-8000Fs. They would replace the RF-52C or maybe I'd make that a rear channel and put the RP's in front. The room isn't that big . Its about 20x15. The RF52's get plenty loud but I'm hoping to get a "fuller" sound. Is the upgrade worth it? Additionally, I'm wired for 9.2 but I only use 7.1 currently. I have a 2014 Yamaha Aventage 1080.. not looking to upgrade at this time. Edited April 17, 2021 by couch
billybob
Welcome to the forum! Yes it would be a decent upgrade we will call it. Know you meant the 8000s would replace the RF52s not the center. You should be good...imo! @couch

willland
Yes it will be a noticeable upgrade. Fuller bigger sound and better directivity due to the improved tractrix horn design. Will you be replacing the center speaker also? Bill

couch
thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to getting these beasts. I don’t think the new center will fit in my media cabinet. That’s a battle for another day will my receiver adequately drive the 8000fs? Edited April 19, 2021 by couch

I think your receiver will be just fine unless you like it crazy loud continuously. Most content does not stress all channels at the same time. If you still think your Yamaha is not adequate, adding a used affordable quality stereo amp to drive the 8000Fs will squash any doubts you might have. The 8 inch drivers may need a little bit to limber up, but just a few hours.
couch
Speakers are amazing out of the box. The TV feels a little small now I turned the airplay volume up too much by accident when I was testing and everyone in the house became very upset lol. Pull those bad boys away from the wall and toe them in just a little bit. I would splurge and get the 504c it's a beast.
