Late to the thread but my Maxxis Hookworms have easily 3k miles with no flats .

I know , apples to oranges but the brand quality has proven very good . Bike was recently tuned up and the shop owner suggested rotating the tires sometime in the future . Wear has been very good .

I ride asphalt and grated gravel .

Late to the party but I outweigh you buy a bit. I run Schwalbe Marathons. Lose a lot of feel (90 PSI max) but have never flatted. I ride on and sorta off road. C&O canal path and Great Allegheny Passage for example.

Thanks, guys. For the moment I've ordered one of these to try. Maybe it will get me through the season, after which I will be moving anyway -- hopefully to a place with less debris in the road.

The original Vittorias rarely flatted on these same roads. So the Michelins are definitely fragile. The Vittorias had all the road feel of an iron pipe. The Michelins ride very nicely.

I'm getting a little tired of sitting by the side of the road at 95°F, patching my tube yet another time.
