Bubo
I recall years ago soy meat, and lentil burgers, were introduced. With limited success . I'm losing track, we have new mass market synth meats with much fanfare, and limited success. Cattle to meat has the lowest conversion from feed by weight, by energy calories not so sure. Apparently the damage from cow farts is driving the market. Any thoughts on this one ? Anyone tried and repeat purchased the product ? richieb
— Maybe we should cull the human population too. I’d venture a guess there are more human farts into the atmosphere than that of cattle —

Do dolphins and whales fart ?
oldtimer
Livestock farts are not a major source of methane by any stretch, look it up in Scientific American.
Kalifornian
Beyond Burger has replaced all my dietary meat needs other than when I want a legit fillet mignon or rib eye. Beyond Burger (to me) legit tastes better than hamburger

makos
Due to the negative effects on our planet I have been trying to limit my consumption of beef for some time now. Nearly 15% of greenhouse gas emissions globally come from livestock, with the vast majority of those traced back to beef specifically, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Cows are 20 times less efficient to raise than beans and roughly three times less efficient than poultry and pork. https://www.npr.org/2021/04/27/991247520/epicurious-ditches-beef-in-a-move-it-calls-pro-planet I love the taste of beef and find synthetic substitutes to be completely unsatisfying. I opt for ground turkey or chicken for the most part. I try to keep my diet as plant based as I can because I think its healthier and more earth friendly but there is no way I could ever go vegan.

sixspeed
Not interested in big bugs are whatever they are using as a substitute for the protein. Tried it a few times, it's just not the same. This is a bridge too far for me. Just my 2 cents...

grasshopper
vegan meat is an oxymoron.. they tell us to not eat highly processed food and present us with this.... . they might have better success [with me] if they would stop calling it meat however... kernels from nuts are called meat, but they aren't trying to pass them off as beef
