mcp
I picked up a pair of KG4's last weekend at a garage sale for $40. They sound great and they brought back memories as the KG4's were my first real speakers many years ago. However, the risers have some water damage and I have been pondering what to use for speaker stands in the 10" - 12" range (I have removed the risers). I am considering attaching furniture legs directly to the cabinets - has anyone here tried this and, did it work without degrading the sound? I am also considering attaching furniture legs to cutting boards and using those as stands...any thoughts?
billybob
Cool find...you may lose some bass by raising them but, you may like them raised. Would experiment first. Risers may keep the sound better than stands. Legs sounds like a plan. @mcp
tromprof
I own multiple pairs of KG4 and always remove the risers and use speaker stands (24 inch). They sound way better with the mid and tweeter nearer ear level IMO.
absolve2525
You can find some really nice small tables, often with welded steel frames, at discount clothing stores like Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I bought a couple that work great for wider speakers like these.
