AndreG.
After i get my new shelves done, i might finally be able to break my RS3 from storage. One of them will go into one of the shelves, but the other will have to be free standing. I know this is not ideal. My question is, should i put a movable board behind the speaker, do dipoles need a "wall" behind them for reflection of sound? Thanks! wuzzzer
They don't need a wall and in fact the more open air around them the better as far as providing a wide dispersion of sound.
AndreG.
Thanks Wuzzer, something new learned. I thought the opposite. Well, this makes placement easier for me, already some ideas in my head.

The idea of wide dispersion sound is to not be able to localize where the sound is coming from and instead have it envelop around you. The closer a speaker is to a wall or reflection point the easier it is to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. 1
