CECAA850
Hsppy 4th to all. Never take this country for granted. Lately we've been going over to a friends house on the 4th. He hires a saxophone player from Louisiana to entertain in his back yard by the pool. For accompaniment there's a laptop and speakers that he uses for fill. The dude is outstanding and normally leaves there with a tip jar full of 20s plus what my buddy pays him. We always look forward to it.
Fish
On a personal level I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July. On a National level, most people don't even know what it is about, really. Mostly thanks to John Adams who ,with one fantastic speech convinced his colleges and the "money people" that America needed Independence for future generations. Today, he would be cancelled by the Overlords ! Happy 4th ! Enjoy what was delivered by men of GREAT WISDOM, the likes of which we'll never see again..... 1
richieb
The 4th was so much fun as a kid (many years, decades ago). Just the excitement of lighting Black Cats all that was needed as you tried to be “safe” as possible. Now most city governments have deemed fireworks unsafe and the excitement for most kids isn’t there anymore. Now as “big boys” we use a little more firepower, move the show from the July heat to cooler October, head to the farm and it’s ballz to the wallz. Several days of prep, word of mouth to friends and family brings 1000+ people for a display that rivals many small cities and any country club. About 45 minutes of non-stop firing, from 3 to 8 inch mortar shells, handmade pieces (several of us have pyro license and are registered with the FTF) and water set pieces in the lake. And a plane may even fly over simulating a bombing run as he attacks the lake where a rather “large” device is deployed. And Black Cats, yep, we still fire a few. A couple “super strings” of 10,000 per string. Happy 4th - in October. 🔥💥☄️🧨🧨 1

Fish
Reprise.....before this thread sinks into the depths of the memory hole. Happy Birthday America ! You were the Greatest Country ever conceived by some of the Greatest humans ever conceived ! You constructed the road map for future generations. Someday that map will be used again, when tyranny is defeated.

wvu80
Happy Birthday America! How many of you out there knew this was the National March? Post your own favorite patriotic tune or Independence Day song, not necessarily the same thing. A Russian song is typically paired with July 4th fireworks celebrations. 1
Subway
Yesterday went to minor league baseball game. $15 for first row seats behind dugout and behind screen. Local symphony, set up at pavilion directly behind stadium, played after game with color guard & three jet flyover. You could easily walk to pavilion for symphony viewing or watch on stadium big screen. When symphony completed you were permitted to return to stadium seating and watch fireworks set to music. Concessions remained opened until end of fireworks. Ample flag waving, family friendly. Think I found new way to spend Fourth of July. Until yesterday completely forgot celebrated the 4th in same manner many years ago. Nashville minor league team, Three Dog Night played on the infield and fireworks. Joy to the World and belated Happy 4th.
