warttuna
There is a 2 inch tear in the dust cap of my kg4 passive. Will this affect the sound? Can I patch it ? Thank You
wuzzzer
It will affect the sound if it isn't fixed. I repaired a small tear in a Chorus woofer by covering the tear with tissue paper on each side and using rubber cement to paint over it. It didn't look pretty but it did the job. 001
post a pic of the tear but should be able to patch it a couple different ways, cig rolling paper & white glue works good but can also use a silicone type caulk or RTV auto gasket maker, ive used permatex ultra black a few times on speaker surrounds or cones from the back side & it works great since its very flexible. depends on how bad the tear/hole is as to the best way to patch it. & if its too bad or ugly, you can always just buy a new dust cap. warttuna
Thanks for the replies. Think I'll try the cig paper glue, happen to have some of those laying around.
