Little known FACTS I just discovered........

Jim Marshall, an American, was credited as the photographer for Cream's Live Concerts circa 1968, along with lots of backstage coverage of other Rock Stars, including the Beatles last live concert.

Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (like Pete Townsend and Jimi Hendrix) used MARSHALL Amplifier "Stacks" live on stage, designed by Jim Marshall in England. Jimi Hendrix's middle name was Marshall, and he used the most powerful Marshall Amps for his live shows.

I thought it was a pretty interesting coincidence all around, especially when you consider both Jim Marshalls died within 2 years of each other in 2 different countries at 2 different ages. They did have a different middle name, however!

Also, Marshall Amplifiers used Celestion Guitar Speakers in their stackable cabinets...................which is the same company that makes the Compression Driver for the Klipsch Diamond Jubilee!!

Also, as a reminder...................

The beautiful Farrah Fawcett, who sold almost as many posters to teen age boys, as Michael Jackson sold Albums to everyone, died of Colon Cancer on the same day as Michael Jackson's death of a drug overdose.

Her death got almost Zero media coverage in comparison to Michael Jackson because his Death Coverage Totally overshadowed hers, lasting over a week on all channels.

Similar to the media coverage of helicopter cameras recording OJ Simpson's attempted escape from Police, after his ex-wife's murder, which overshadowed David Hasselhoff's TV show.

What a world!

Fun fact at least for me. I was sitting at the bar of a cool restaurant in San Francisco and started talking to the guy next to me about music. He said he was the famous Rock Photographer Jim Marshall. I said I know who you are by name but did not recognize his face. He was with a woman about 1/10th his age (good for him). This was a long time ago and digital cameras had just came out. I asked him if he would take a picture of my wife and I and offered him my digital camera.....

.

.

.

.

.

I'm paraphrasing but he basically told me digital cameras were sh!t but if I called him in the morning he would shoot a picture of me and my wife in his studio on film. HollyCrap I was pretty fire up about that. He grabbed a coaster and gave me his number. I bought him a drink. Chatted a bit more about bands, photography....wife says leave that guy alone.

.

.

.

.

.

Called a few times the next day and even left a couple of messages with my Cell Phone number. He never called me back, I was crushed. Que the sad trombone.

At least I got his autograph and a some-what cool story. I'd have loved to have gotten a print of me and the misses to have framed with this.
